PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA

After half-winning their battle, and having their “Free the 15” released from jail, the Boeung Kak community once again fights back against the Cambodian judicial system. The Boeung Kak and Borei Keila communities joined forces today to protest in front of the Municipal Court in Phnom Penh after two of their residents were convicted and taken to jail. In the past year this has become a worrying trend, Cambodians have seen an increase in the number of high profile cases where the defendant has gone to jail without a fair trial.
